***Trigger Warning*** We will be discussing school shootings and related topics.
Welcome to our second episode of Little Red School House!
In this episode, we have a conversation with Anarchist author
and organizer Cindy Milstein. Cindy is known for her writing, most
recently in her latest book about collective grieving and mourning
titled Rebellious Mourning: The Collective Work of Grief. Our
discussion's purpose is to highlight the 'new normal' of school
shootings and the trauma and grief they cause, along with students'
exposure to stress and trauma in a profit-motivated school system.
The context we focus on is the current education system in the USA,
however, most centers of capitalist power experience similar
realities.
Little Red School House focuses on issues with our current
education system and ways we can empower students, educators, and
anyone who cares about education.
Shouldn’t people be put before profits? Shouldn’t our children be educated to grow and learn instead of being treated like the means to the financial gain of those in power? If you agree with this so-called “radical” and “revolutionary” perspective, you’ve come to the right place!
Join educators Gord Milstone and John Battalion as they call out
systemic problems and discuss how we can break down barriers in the
educational system.
